 The aim of the Young Diabetics group is to provide support for children with Type 1 Diabetes and their families.
Children can at times feel isolated and overwhelmed by the day to day routine of Type 1 Diabetes. Our informal group activities have created an opportunity for our children to meet others dealing with the same condition and many children have benefitted greatly from these informal events.
As a parent / carer, having a child diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes can be an extremely traumatic event for a family. As parents we have found it very useful to meet other parents and carers in the same position and to work as a team to improve our own knowledge and create a support network for ourselves and our children.
We are a very friendly and informal group and would welcome you to join us at any of our events or meetings.
